The Keauhou Store - A Little Slice of History

I love country general stores. When you walk in, you know that you're experiencing a little slice of history. They're getting harder and harder to find as our neighborhoods get filled with superstores like Walmart and Target, so it was a nice surprise to find the Keauhou Store out on Mamalahoa Hwy in Kona. Established in 1919, many of the store's original features can still be seen in the woodwork and fixtures.

Stop by and try one of the delicious homemade cookies on display in glass jars, or pick up some snacks for the road on your way to the beach or volcano.
